Our experienced team is transforming air travel through baggage handling automation.

About Journey Robotics

Our team has solved complex aviation challenges using robotics for years and is ready to take our latest initiative, Journey Robotics, to new heights. By utilizing our proven ability to develop and deliver robotic products, deep knowledge of the aviation industry, and long-standing relationships with airports across the globe, Journey Robotics has developed innovative baggage handling solutions to help airports improve worker safety, address labor shortages, and improve the overall passenger experience.

More than a dozen years ago, our CEO, Reeg Allen, joined Pittsburgh startup, RE2 Robotics, as the head of business development. Reeg was tasked with developing relationships within the Department of Defense and across several commercial markets, including aviation, construction, and energy. During his tenure at RE2, Reeg spearheaded the company’s business relationships with global airports and regional aviation initiatives. When RE2 was acquired by Sarcos in 2022, Reeg continued his focus in the aviation industry and helped lead the development of a baggage handling solution. When Sarcos made the decision to stop production of all robotic hardware in 2024, Reeg recognized this as an opportunity. He and several of his Pittsburgh-based RE2 colleagues, being genuinely passionate about improving worker safety and the overall passenger experience, formed Journey Robotics. With over 50 years of combined experience automating dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks outside of the factory floor, the Journey Team is ready to become the standard for automated baggage handling.
